Terms and Conditions

ICATT (International Critical Care Air Ambulance Transfer Team) provides medical evacuation air ambulance services through Charter Aircraft, Commercial Air Ambulance, or Commercial Stretcher case arrangements, in accordance with the terms set out below. Payment terms, cancellation charges, refunds, and overstay charges are governed separately by ICATT’s Payment and Cancellation Policy.

  1. ICATT charges a single, all-inclusive net amount covering aircraft flying charges, the medical escort team, and all other associated logistics costs.
  2. The final decision on whether to airlift the patient rests exclusively with ICATT’s medical escort team, in consultation with the pilot. Neither the client, the patient’s attendant, nor any third party may override this decision, as it is made solely in the interest of the patient’s care and safety.
  3. ICATT and/or the pilot reserve the right to refuse boarding to any attendant or item of baggage, or to require their removal from the aircraft, if the pilot, at his sole discretion, determines this necessary for flight safety or because the total payload weight exceeds the permissible limit. Additional therapeutic oxygen and wheelchairs may be provided at the client’s request, subject to availability.
  4. If, at the time of boarding, the passenger’s condition is found to be worse than what was originally disclosed, ICATT may refuse carriage. ICATT will not accept any case that it believes could endanger the safety of the patient, the flight, or the aircraft’s operation, and is not obliged to provide reasons for cancelling a flight on this basis.
  5. ICATT is not responsible for any diversion or delay arising from circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to denial of permissions by ATC or airport authorities, cancellation of such permissions, adverse weather conditions, or security concerns.
  6. All airlift services are subject to aircraft availability, airworthiness, and prevailing weather conditions.
  7. Should the flight need to be diverted to another sector due to bad weather, technical issues, unavailability of parking space, refueling requirements at the destination airport, or the absence of night parking facilities there, the client will bear the cost of the additional sector(s) and flying hours, as well as crew accommodation and lodging.
  8. The client agrees that ICATT’s liability is limited to the extent covered and indemnified by the insurance policy taken out for the specific aircraft, and confirms that they are satisfied with the terms of that insurance policy. Any applicable taxes levied on the date of the flight shall be borne by the patient or their relatives.
  9. All costs quoted are estimates based on distance and the aircraft’s approximate cruising speed under nil-wind conditions, and do not account for delays or diversions caused by bad weather, refueling requirements, VVIP/VIP flight movements, or unserviceable runways. The final invoice is calculated based on the actual Block Flight Time (measured from “Engine Starting” to “Engine Switch off”) together with any aircraft or helicopter waiting period on the ground. Costs include aircraft rental, crew salaries, maintenance, insurance, fuel, in-flight catering, route navigation charges, and landing and parking charges.
  10. Force Majeure: ICATT shall not be held responsible for non-operation of the charter due to unforeseen circumstances, including bad weather, poor visibility, non-availability of clearances from ATC, defense authorities, or civil administration, or technical problems. If the flight is cancelled and can’t be rescheduled, the full amount paid will be refunded, except for any landing charges already paid in advance to authorities at uncontrolled airstrips or helipads, and any fuel positioning charges, which are non-refundable. (Xi) If due to any reason diverted due to captains call or by authorities, ICATT will not be responsible in any manner for outcome for any unforeseen delays, cancellations or any additional costs if any need to be incurred by the family.
  11. Destination weather is checked before every departure. However, if weather conditions deteriorate suddenly enroute or at the destination, preventing the aircraft from landing and requiring it to return to the point of origin or divert to another airport, ICATT shall not be held responsible for failing to transfer the patient to the originally planned destination.
  12. ICATT is not responsible for any technical snag in the aircraft that cannot be rectified within the required time frame and consequently affects flight operations.
  13. Baggage Restrictions: 1 cabin bag per head not more than 7 kg.
  14. This contract is governed exclusively by the laws of India, and the parties agree that the courts of Bengaluru, India, shall have sole jurisdiction over any disputes arising here from.
